Partying in Berlin is a great experience. There are not many cities in the world who can compete with the nightlife in Berlin and the great parties are defenitely a reason to visit the capital of Germany. The clubs in Berlin are very versatile and the prices are very reasonable.
Clubs in Berlin
In November 2012, CNN compared some of the beste nightlife-cities in the world and Berlin ended up winning the second place (only Ibiza scored higher). Partying in Berlin scored the maximum amount of point on the aspects opening-hours and music. If you partied in Berlin before, you know that CNN is right: Berlin never sleeps and it is a great benefit that many great and talented DJ’s love to perform in the capital of Germany. Besides the opening-hours and the music, the clubs in Berlin also offer very reasonable prices: For about 10-15 Euro you can party in Berlin and see some of the best artists from all over Europe.
Because Berlin offers many different clubs, it might be useful to get some help when you are choosing the right place to visit on your precious free nights. On Berlin-Enjoy you can find articles about clubs in Berlin on a regular basis, but in this article we will present the best locations to party in Berlin in the current month. We selected the coolest clubs, the best DJ’s and the sweetest events and put them in the list.
Chosing events obviously comes with a great deal of subjectivity. Therefore we will always attempt to explain why a certain event should be visited and you will also find a lot of links to mixtapes and songs of the specific artists. But always keep in mind that the events are selected because we think they are great and not everybody has to share this opinion. Berlin offers a lot of great Techno and (Deep)House parties, so you will find many of them in the party-calender. If you do not agree with the events, feel free to leave a comment or contact us about great gigs and events which we should visit.
Party in Berlin: January 2017
In Berlin January is one of the more quite months if it comes to tourism. The whole year Berlin is always crowded but in January and February there are no Christmas Markets, Open-Airs or Festivals so it is a bit less busy in the clubs and around Brandenburger Tor. The temperatures are low so staying in a long line for clubs is not really an option. Therefore you might want to choose your clubs wisely in January. Or look at it from another angle: Maybe this could be your chance to get into the Berghain? Anyway: For the party-people there are plenty of reasons to visit Berlin in January: There are some great parties in Berlin in January
David K, Sammy D, Till von Sein and more…
As mentioned, January has plenty to offer when it comes to great acts and talented DJs. Some real Berliner DJs will be performing and besides that some popular international names will also be visiting Berlin. If you are visiting Berlin to party, you will be excited to hear that superstars like David K, Sammy D, Till von Sein and Tiefschwarz will be performing this month. If you never heard of these names before you can always listen tot their music on Soundcloud: I mostly present a liveset or mixtape below the parties in Berlin in this article. So just take some time to listen to the music before the party so you get a good idea of what to expect.
Below you can find the list of my favorite events to party in January 2017. You can decide to scroll down or click on one of the following links:
06.01.2017 – Sammy Dee in Berghain
Berghain is probably the most famous club in Berlin. If you are looking for a special experience or party in Berlin, it might be a good idea to visit this Berliner club. The only small problem could be that it not easy to get into the Berghain these days. On a regular Saturday-night there is a very long line and about half of the people will be refused entrance. So if you want to visit the Berghain, make sure you are prepared for a small disappointment.
But if you get into the Berghain you will have a great night. This club has been voted as the best club in the world a couple of times. So I would suggest you make the best of the time you are waiting and if you will not get in you can always try another club. You do not have much to lose and if you get in, you are in one of the best clubs in world!
The line-up in the Berghain is always very solid. Every weekend you will be able to see a great DJ perform and the Berghain also has some regulars which are quite famous. Sammy Dee is one of the DJs who plays in the Berghain more often and his livesets are versatile and good. Sammy Dee is a bit harder to find on Soundcloud but you can find a podcast of last year over here
The entrance of the Berghain is always 14 Euro and for this amount you can stay as long as you want.
DJs: Sammy Dee
Address: Am Wriezener Bahnhof 70
Entrance: 14 Euro

07.01.2017 – David K. in Magdalena
The Magdalena is a Berliner club which used to be located between the stations Jannowitzbrücke and Ostbahnhof. Unfortunately that location had to close and Berlin lost one of his cooler clubs. Lucky enough the Magdalena has reopened again in 2016. Right now the Magdalena is located across the street from Wilden Renate so about 5 minutes walk from Ostkreuz. The club is known for its impressive sound-system and I personally love the fact that there is always enough space to dance. This is not always the case in popular clubs in Berlin.
On this party-night in Berlin, many DJs of a label called Dusted Decks will be performing in the Magdalena. David K is one of them and he is one of my favourite DJs ever. In my opinion he finds the perfect mix between house and electro and therefore his music is just very enjoyable. If you want to listen to something before you go and party in Berlin, you can find a liveset of David K. and Tom B. on Soundcloud.
Update: This week we heard the unfortunate news that the Magdalena is insolvent and this party will not take place! Places like the Wilden Renate and About:Blank are very close to this club so you can visit them instead.
DJs: David K.
Address: Alt Stralau 1-2
Entrance: 12-15 Euro

13 + 14.01.2017 – Kollektiv Ost in Ritter Butzke
The Ritter Butzke is one of the clubs in Berlin which is represented in my party-calendar almost every month. If you like to party in Berlin and you love a solid line-up, you will probably love the DJs which are performing in the Ritter Butzke. The good thing is, that the Ritter Butzke has the same entrance-prices as most other clubs in Berlin, so for 10-15€ you can see many popular DJs in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Kollektiv Ost consists of two friends named Sandro Schäufler and Marcel Schulz. They are originally from Mecklenburg and have been performing as Kollektiv Ost for a couple of years now. Their music has its own style and it is definitely legitime to visit the Kosmonaut just for these guys. If you want to get an impression of there music you can click this link.
This party in the Ritter Butzke will start on Friday and keep going till Sunday, therefore it is hard to say when Kollektiv Ost will be playing but there are plenty of other good DJs so it is definitely worth visiting this party in Berlin.

14.01.2017 – Till von Sein in Kater Blau
One of the most popular clubs Berlin has ever known was the Kater Holzig. If you have read my article about this club, you probably know that it was quite a unique place to party in Berlin. But unfortunately the club had to close down and Berlin lost one of his great venues. But not long after closing down the owners opened a new place which is called Kater Blau. The club is located directly at the Spree and still has this same unique feel to it. The door-policy did not change so it is still not easy to get in, but the place is definitely worth a visit.
Till von Sein is one of these great DJs which you can only see in Berlin for such a cheap price. The fact that this German DJ has almost 50.000 followers on Soundcloud already proves his popularity. This guy is very talented and plays a lot of different music-styles so let him surprise you. If you want to listen to some music of Till von Sein before you party in Berlin, you can click here.
DJs: Till von Sein
Club: Kater Blau
Address: Holzmarktstraße 25
Entrance: 14 Euro
Music: Techno, House

20.01.2017 – Baikal in About:Blank
A club which is also located almost directly at station Ostkreuz is About Blank. A while ago I already wrote a full article about it because I really think it is one of the better clubs Berlin has to offer at this moment. The club About Blank has a very large garden which is perfect in the summer: Funny features like a campfire and some cool places to sit make this club special place.
The About:Blank is a club which focuses more on local heros than on headliners so the line-up is not as special as the Watergate or Ritter Butzke. Still the organisation knows what they are doing and it can be awesome to get to know some new DJs when you are partying in Berlin. Besides that the club has many different floors and a big garden so there will be plenty of choice. One of the DJs which will be performing on this night is Baikal and his livesets are definitely solid. If you want to get an impression before the party, check out his liveset at the festival Into the Woods in the Netherlands here.
Club: About Blank
Address: Alt Stralau 70
Entrance: 12 Euro

21.01.2017 – Tiefschwarz in Watergate
The Watergate is one of the most stylish clubs in Berlin and also a bit more expensive than most others. The entrance is normally 15 euro and a beer will costs 4 euro. Although the prices are a bit higher, most people love the Watergate and I personally also think it is worth the few extra Euro’s. The club has two floors and an awesome view on the Spree. If you want to read more about the Watergate, you can read my previous article.
The two brothers Alexander & Sebastian Schwarz will please your senses if you like electronic music. As a DJ-duo with the name Tiefschwarz they are booked all over the world with their versatile and melodic livesets. If you want to listen to their music you can check out this Podcast and judge yourself (podcast is a bit older).
The entrance in the Watergate will be 15€ and the beers are a bit more expensive compared to other clubs in Berlin (4€). Still you will get enough in return for this investment, especially the beautiful view and sunset is a famous must-see if you visit Berlin.
Address: Falckensteinstraße 49
Entrance: 15 Euro
Music: House, Techno

27.01.2017 – Sebastian Voigt in Wilden Renate
Another club in Berlin which is a must-visit, is the Wilden Renate. This club is located close to Ostkreuz and very popular because of its unique style. This club has many different floors and will remind you of an old house with many surprising rooms. As mentioned, the Wilden Renate is a popular place so it is best to arrive early, not with a very large group and with at least a few girls.
The Wilden Renate is not a club which invites a lot of headliners but because there are so many different rooms, you will always have a great time here. The place is worth a visit anyway and it is fun to hear so many music-styles. One of the DJs on the long list of performances is Sebastian Voigt and I like his livesets a lot. If you want to get an impression first, you can check out his podcast for Wilden Renate here.
DJs: Sebastian Voigt
Club: Wilden Renate
Address: Alt Stralau 70
Entrance: 12 Euro

28.01.2017 – Turmspringer in Suicide Circus
The Revaler Straße and the whole area around the Warschauer Brucke is one of the most popular party-areas in Berlin. The club Suicide Circus is also located in this area and therefore plenty of people find there way into this club every weekend. The Suicide Circus is one of these raw clubs in Berlin which we all love so much: An old building with a dark dance-floor and great music. When it is warm enough you will also be able to dance in the garden.
Turmspringer consists of the duo Robert Galic (alias Edgar Peng) and Tim Brüggemann (alias Didier de la Boutique). These boys can be found in Berlin nearly every weekend but also perform on many German Festivals. They have been performing together for over 10 years now. When you want to party in Berlin, this night in the Golden Gate might be just the event for you. If you want to get an impression the music, you can visit the soundcloud-page of Turmspringer.
Club: Suicide Circus
Address: Revaler Strasse 99
Entrance: 10-12 Euro
Music: House, Techno
