The last couple of years more than 1 million people celebrated New Years Eve in front of this famous touristic attraction. From the Brandenburger Tor all the way to the Siegessäule you can find music, bars, food-stands and millions of excited people. This is one of the biggest yearly events in Berlin.
A night full with entertainment
The Silvesterparty am Brandenburger Tor will be organised for the 27th time this year. You can enter from 2PM but the real entertainment starts around 19.00. At night you can get ready for a wide range of performances. The exact line-up has not been announced yet but in the last years artists like DJ Bobo, Bonnie Tyler and Eagle Eye Cherry have been performing on the so called Party-Meile in Berlin. Besides performances you can enjoy laser-shows, a large ferris wheel and at midnight the large countdown with plenty of spectacular fireworks. After midnight the party will keep going until 3AM.
Most crowded place in Berlin on New Years Eve
If you are planning to visit the NYE-Party at Brandenburger Tor, it is highly advisable to get there early. This location is without a doubt the most crowded place to celebrate New Years Eve in Berlin. People from all over the world come to Berlin for this countdown and 2022-2023 will not be any different. Although there are 6 different entrances, every person will have to be frisked so getting in might take a while.

2. Great techno party in club Ritter Butzke
Many New Years Eve parties in Berlin offer a mix of music styles. But Berlin would not be Berlin without some solid techno-events. The Ritter Butzke is one of the best clubs in Berlin and offers a nice line-up with talented DJs on New Years Eve. You can get ready for Monkey Safari, Super Flu, Oliver Schories, Joachim Pastor, Niconé and Dominik Eulberg. The event is called Hippie New Year and the party starts at 22.00.
Three floors with electronic music on New Years Eve
The Ritter Butzke offers three floors with different electronic music. On special nights like this the organisation will make sure the decoration is spectacular. Tickets can be bought in advance and start at 22€ (early-bird). If you are planning to visit the Ritter Butzke with public transport you can take the U8 to station Moritzplatz, it’s only three stations away from Alexanderplatz. The party will keep rocking until 10.00 in the morning.

3. All in one: New Years Eve at the Kulturbrauerei
The Kulturbrauerei is a courtyard near station Eberswalder Straße in Prenzlauer Berg. This courtyard is home to several companies, restaurants and clubs. On New Years Eve all the clubs in the Kulturbrauerei combine their strengths and give visitors the chance to start 2023 with a versatile party.
New Years Eve on 13 Floors and with 30 different DJs
You can visit 8 different clubs and 13 different floors with one ticket on this biggest indoor New Years Eve Party in Berlin. The music styles range from pop to 80s-90s and from electronic music to hiphop. If you are having a hard time finding an event for a larger group, the Kulturbrauerei is probably your best option for New Years Eve in Berlin.

The party in the Kulturbrauerei starts earlier than most other NYE-Parties in Berlin. This can be a benefit for people who want to start celebrating before midnight. 4. Famous Berliner club: Kater Blau
If you are looking for a great party in Berlin, you could consider the famous club Kater Blau. Since 2004 this club has been part of Berlin: First as Bar 25, later as Kater Holzig and since a couple of years as Kater Blau. Regardless of the name, the clubs always offered that special raw vibe which makes Berlin so special. On New Years Eve there is a great event which starts at 22.00.
Mix of local talent and famous DJs
During the NYE-Party DJs like Britta Arnold, Pauli Pocket, Sarah Wild and Foolik will be performing. The main focus of these DJs and the Kater Blau is techno. 5. NYE for kids and families: Zitadelle Spandau
Many people in Berlin like to go clubbing on NYE. But it’s good to know that there are also events which focus on children and families. One of them will be organised in the Zitadelle in Spandau. This is one of the best maintained castles in Europe and an awesome location for an event on New Years Eve. In the courtyard of the castle you will find all sorts of stands for food and drinks. It feels a bit like a Christmas Market. Besides that there will live-music, a program for the children and you can even go iceskating.
Program for young and old
The event in the Zitadelle is split into two smaller events. From 15.00 until 19.00 the main focus are the kids. They an have their face painted, play with balloons, dance on children-music and join in other activities. After 20.00 the event transforms into a NYE-Party for grown-ups. There will be a DJ and youcan party till 3 in the morning. By the way: There are four rounds of fireworks: 6pm, 8pm, 10pm and midnight.

6. All Inclusive: 80s and 90s party in the east of Berlin
Berlin is famous for its techno clubs but not everybody likes electronic music. If you like to visit a party with music from a few centuries back, the 80s and 90s party at the Trabrennbahn in Karlshorst might be the right event for you. The usual favourites from Roxette, the Backstreet Boys and Depeche Mode will obviously be played and make sure the dance-floor will be filled all the time.
All inclusive New Years Eve
This NYE-Party is an all-inclusive party which means all drinks are included in the ticket. The most simple tickets start at 59€ and the exclusive VIP-tables cost around 90€ per person. The party starts at 20.00 and keeps going until 05.00. You can walk to the Trabrennbahn in Karlshorst from stations Schöneweide or Karlshorst.

7. Wilde Renate – 60 hours of raving
Berlin is famous for its extreme opening hours. If you like to party for several days in a row, you should consider going to Berlin. Also during NYE this is possible: The club Wilde Renate offers a rave which starts Friday 23.00 and keeps going until Monday 12.00. Tickets are not cheap: The best deal is the full weekend for 60€ which translates in about 20€ per day. A ticket for NYE costs 45€. In our opinion it will be worth the money because the Wilde Renate always delivers when it comes to unforgettable parties.

The Wilde Renate is a club which is a must-visit for everybody who loves to party. This club is located close to Ostkreuz and very popular because of its unique style. This club has many different floors and might remind you of an old house with many surprising rooms.It also has a large garden where you can usually find a small fire and some places to chill. 8. New Years Eve in Berlin on a Boat
Parties on New Years Eve are often compared to normal parties in a regular weekend. As you usually pay a bit more you also expect a bit more. It makes sense. If you want to be sure that your New Years Eve in Berlin will not be the same as a regular night out, you can celebrate it on a boat. Enjoying the night and countdown on the Spree, Havel or other waters surrounding Berlin is definitely something unique and unforgettable.
Onboarding in Treptower Park
If you would like to celebrate New Years Eve on a boat you have to decide as soon as possible. There are just a limited amount of boats and usually the tickets are sold out very quickly. Especially the ones who depart at Hafen Treptow which is directly at the Treptower Park.

If you want to spend New Years Eve on a boat, you need to spend a bit more money. Tickets including drinks and food start at 139€. Obviously one of the greatest things about celebrating New Years Eve on a boat is the fact that you will have a spectacular view on the fireworks.

9. New Years Eve on the 15th Floor: Weekend Club
When you want to celebrate New Years Eve on a spectacular location, you should consider visiting the Weekend Club at Alexanderplatz. This club is located on the 15th floor of a very high building. The large outdoor area enables you to have an impressive view over Berlin. Obviously this is great on New Years Eve because you can enjoy the fireworks over the skyline of Berlin.
Electronic music & HipHop
Just like some of the other clubs we have listed, you can expect a mix of different music-styles in the Weekend Club. The DJs which are playing will most likely present a booming performance on a special night like this. Besides the usual electronic music you will be able to enjoy loads of HipHop music in the Weekend Club. The tickets for this event on New Years Eve are not available yet but other years they started at around 50€.
